If your iPad Air screen is cracked, blank, non-responsive, showing lines or dark spots, lifting in the corners, or has colour problems…
Unlike the original iPad Air, the top “glass digitizer” layer on the 2nd generation iPad Air is manufactured together with the LCD panel; so if either layer becomes damaged, the full screen is designed to be replaced.
The proper iPad Air screen repair requires fully removing the old seals and thoroughly cleaning the iPad’s frame prior to installing new high performance acrylic seals and a new screen. Time is also required for the new acrylic seals to properly bond to the aluminum frame; so, for convenience iPad repairs can be dropped off for next-day pickup if desired. Faster services can be found on the market but they tend to involve leaving the existing damaged/compromised seal on the frame, as well as using permanent quickset epoxy/glue to install the new screen (this affects the flushness and dust-resistance of the repaired screen, as well as prevents proper future repairs or access if required).
